The simplest way to acquire Tcl and Tk for a Mac, Windows or Linux sytem is to download the ActiveTcl Distribution. This is a pre-compiled Batteries Included distribution of the main interpreter and many pre-compiled extensions that will work together seamlessly.
If you need to run Tcl on a system that ActiveState doesn't support, you can compile Tcl for your system.
